From August 10 to 18, the Vinnytsia region traditionally hosted the International Art Plein Air "The Best Artist - 2021", which this year celebrated its first anniversary, as it was the fifth in a row. Every year, dozens of artists from around the world come to this powerful art event, which undergoes a strict pre-selection. So this year, according to the organizer of the plein air, People's Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Kozyuk, the competition received more than half a thousand applications from artists from 7 countries. 33 artists from China, France, Ukraine and Belarus reached the final. Due to quarantine restrictions, the 30th managed to arrive in Vinnytsia. During the plein air, the artists worked in various locations, including the city of Bar. The main feature of this year's plein air was a unique project. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence, the best of Ukraine's best artists recreated portraits of prominent Vinnytsia residents on their canvases, whose candidacies were nominated by Vinnytsia communities, public organizations and creative unions.

A powerful art project that unfolded in the Vinnytsia region could not miss the theme of Bar ceramics and outstanding Podolsk potters who are reviving this ceramics. In particular, wonderful portraits of Victoria Nikolaeva, Lyudmila Filinska and Olga Tsibula were painted as part of the plein air. They are not only representatives of the pottery elite of Ukraine, but also active participants in the project of Revival of Bar Ceramics Traditions. It is noteworthy that the portraits of the masters depicted with samples of Bar ceramics of different periods (both authentic and modern), and the place of creation of the synthesis of fine and pottery art was the workshop of Victoria Nikolaeva. The paintings could be seen in Vinnytsia as part of a personal exhibition of their author - Odessa artist Kateryna Biletina, who is a regular participant in the plein air "Best Artist", has repeatedly visited Bar and is the author of a series of portraits of charming Ukrainian women in national costumes. In 2020, the actress of the Barsky Moscow Art Theater Anastasia Matvienko-Kimakovskaya also got).

Also, authentic samples of Bar ceramics from the collection of the Bar Moscow Art Theater became "heroes" of still lifes written by artists from Odessa Zlata Shishman and Kateryna Mishina, who visited the city of Bar (gratitude for the hospitable reception of artists to our project participant and public figure Art).
