Mr. Olexiy Mykhailovych Alyoshkin (05.01.1957, Lugans’k) – a sculptor and a painter. He was graduated from the Kyiv’s art institute (1979) and he also studied at the Mins’k’s White Russia theatric-art institute (1979–80).
Mrs. Lyudmila Victorivna Alyoshkina (her nickname – Safo; 10.08.1957, Mins’k) – a sculptor, a painter, a graphics maker and a poet. She was graduated from Mins’k’s White Russia theatric-art institute (1980). They worked as the teachers in the villages of Vyla Yaruz’ky, Bandyshivka, Bukatynka, and as the heads of art groups.
They work to do both to create the sculptures from the stones at the monumental-megalithic ethno-modern style and to revive the folk style of carving. The authors of the theatric geometrical-patterns paper-cutting art-decorations as well as the ceramic picturesque graphic art works. They founded «The Podillya’s Guardian» symposium (Village of Busha, District of Yampil’, Region of Vinnytsia, from1986), which became traditional.
In the Village of Bukatynka at the District of Chernivtsi at the Region of Vinnytsia, they founded their private museum by buying the neglected farmsteads. Here, there is a house with a theater of the shadows and an art studio at which the paintings by the sand on the glass are made. There is a pottery museum with the hundreds of the jugs, barrels and ceramic decorative vessels, which were collected during the tours along the Dniester river banks region. The Bar’s ceramics samples look quite differently in a collection among various other ceramic products. There is a museum of antiquities with such exhibits as the painted furnace with the golden «spiders» above it. There is a house with the family’s art-works: the stone, the wood, the clay, the Easter pained eggs, the pictorial arts, the graphics.... All these museums-houses are covered by the fragrant-hay inside the houses as well as they are painted with the fabulous mermaids from the fairytales, the Trypillyan decorative patterns, and the Podillya’s flower pots on the outside.
«A main artistic instrument – the spirit, which leads the hand by the heart», - the artists think. Olexiy and Lyudmila Alyoshkin continue to work with the aim of their spirits burning.
