The Museum – Exhibition Hall at the Bar professional college of transport and building construction at the National transport university

The museum was opened at the building of the Bar college of transportation and building construction in 1989. Mrs. Galyna Vasylivna Kramar, a deputy director for the educational work, is a founder and a head of the museum from that time until now. The museum exhibits were collected by the teachers / students from the different regions in Ukraine over the long time. The museum has an exposition with the old home-use things: the dishes, bowl, spoons, combs, irons, chests, furniture, lights, horn, reel, mortar, poker, hard wood plates with edges, old towels, shirts, wreaths, tapes, icons, table and even old cradle. The Bar’s ceramics unique samples are presented in the museum exposition, which have a special art value in distinction from the other exhibits. The museum’s visitors have an interest to look at the creations by the folk masters, who lived and worked to create the things at the Town of Bar and at the nearby villages. Despite the fact that a not-big quantity of the Bar’s ceramics samples came to our present days, an every exhibit is the special and unique folk art creation, which carries, in itself, the knowledge and experience by the ancestors. The Bar’s potters’ art creations have a special place in the Ukraine cultural heritage. There is a collection of towels. It is the biggest one. Some of them are dated back to the ХІХ century. A total number of towels from the regions of Vinnitsa, Khmel’nyts’ky, Chernivtsi, L’viv, Odessa, Mykolaiv is around 1000. The «Exhibition-Hall» has a collection of the man / woman every-day-use / festive-use shirts among the other museum’s exhibits. The oldest valuable samples came from the second half of the ХІХ century. A complete museum collection has around the 3000 exhibits. The museum was awarded by the 53 regional fine and decorative-applied art exhibition diploma in 2002.
