The museum was established by Mr. L. P. Pankosha, a local painting teacher, in 1980, who became a head of museum.
The museum’s art collection was created due to the contributions by Mr. V. Ocheretny, Mr. S. Beztelesny, Mr. R. Grih, Mrs. А. Potapova and some others, which became a foundation of exposition.
The museum collection has more than the four thousands art exhibits.
Speaking about the collection, it is necessary to outline the Paleontology findings; the Trypil’s ceramics, which was discovered at the Voroshylivka, Klisheva, Shenderova villages’ and Tyvriv town’s territories; the faleristics and numismatics collections ; the national icons collection; the arms collection from the ХVІІ-ХХ centuries, the household things collection and the documents collection from the ХІХ-ХХ centuries.
The museum funds include the rural clothes, the embroidery’s products, the weaver’s exhibits, the pottery’s products, the woodcarving samples, the Easter eggs paintings, the Tyvriv’s paintings, and also the cooper’s, seamstress’s, tailor’s instruments collections. The marketing exhibits from the Tyvriv’s industrial enterprises, which belonged to Mr. Yaroshyns’ky and Mr. Geiden in ХІХ-ХХ centuries, can be considered as especially interesting exhibits.
There is a fine collection of the local household things from various time periods. Among them, a collection with a number of the Bar’s pottery products is quite distinctive: the four painted jugs. At some time, Mr. Leonid Petrovich Pankosha, a museum director and a passionate connoisseur of antiquities such the ceramic tableware, decided to create a nice potteries collection. Travelling around the villages in his region, a painter was able to frequently unexpectedly found the unique interesting things, including the Bar’s ceramics samples. It was possible to make the exchanges between the modern tableware and the old dishes or buy the collectable things. The ancient jugs were found in the Village of Selyshe, Town of Tyvriv and Town of Bratslav.
At the museum, the various thematic art expositions, the art exhibitions by the professional painters, and the art presentations by the applied decorative art masters have been conducted regularly.
