TheSnitkiv’sVillageLibraryunderthe Murovano-Kurylivs’kaVillageCouncil

The ethnographic museum at the Snitkiv’s village library under the Murovano-Kurylivs’ka village council at the Mohyliv-Podil’s’ky’s district in the Vinnytsia’s region was established thanks to an initiative by Mrs. Valentyna Georgivna Grebenyuk, a head of library, in 2018.

After Mrs. Valentyna Georgivna Grebenyuk’s call, the fellow villagers decided to pass some ancient household products from their houses to the village’s library. These products were owned by their old-age relatives and they were made by them or they were bought at the local market in the Village of Snitkiv. The museum’s exposition has the exhibits, including the embroidery products samples, the weaving products samples, the carpet weaving products samples, the pottery products samples, the wood carving products samples, the leather products samples, the metal products samples. All the exhibits differ in terms of both the painting beauty and the craftsmanship quality.

Among them, an art-work by the Bar’s potters looks as a quite distinctive exhibit, namely a jar with «The Rabbit’s Ears» decorative pattern, which was a necessary attribute of the village settlers during the field works. It was possible to preserve the fresh and cold water at these jars in a field for a long time.

Mrs. Valentyna Georgivna continues to increase the museum’s collection, expressing her gratitude to the village settlers for a preservation of the art products, which were made by the hands of ancestors.
