Ancient Bar ceramics are being revived in the Vinnytsia region as part of a project supported by the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. At the beginning of the 20th century, a third of the population in the ancient Podolsk city of Bari was engaged in pottery. Bar ceramics differed in artistic significance among domestic pottery centers. Local craftsmen created mostly tableware and decorative items: bowls, half-bowls, plates, makitry, jugs and toys, some of which were even exported, and Bar ceramics still adorn the collections of leading museums in Ukraine, as well as Krakow, Berlin and St. Petersburg. . But in the twentieth century, during famines, wars and repressions, these traditions and techniques were lost. Today, no potter works in Bari. Ancient Bar ceramics in her homeland began to revive in 2018. Then, with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, a regional round table dedicated to Bar ceramics was held. products of bar masters-potters, included in the photo album "Bar ceramics". After the completion of the first grant project, the work continued: the best master potters of Vinnytsia region regularly came to the bar with master classes, and in 2020 the BarVinOk training studio was established in the city under the leadership of the Binkovsky creative family, which gives hope for revival. fishing directly in the city of Bari.
