The Vinnitsa regional arts museum
The Vinnitsa regional arts museum was founded in 1987, based on the arts department of the Vinnitsa regional local history museum.
In 1993, after the building reconstruction, the Vinnitsa regional arts museum opened a renewed exposition for the visitors.
Mr. Il’lya Vasyl’yovych Bezbah (1945-2017), Ukrainian honored arts patron, initiated the museum foundation and he was its director for many years.
In 2005, a scientific research division of the Vinnitsa regional arts museum was opened at the Staromis’kyi district of the City of Vinnitsa - Museum of pottery art named after Mr. Oleksiy Lutsishin. The foundational collection of museum has around the 10 thousand valuable pieces.
In the museum’s exposition, the Bar’s unique ceramics samples, which were found in the Bar’s region, are presented. The museum’s scientists conduct the research projects to better investigate and preserve the rare samples of the Podolia ceramics, which were made in Bar especially.
The museum is situated in a historical building at the territory of the «Мury» complex, which was built as the defense and monastery constructions complex in Vinnitsa in XVII century.
In 2005, a new constantly functioning exhibition with the near 300 pieces of arts and sculptures, made of the bronze, ceramics, valuable metals and stones by the Western European, Ukrainian, Russian authors, and also by the Eastern masters from Japan, Korea, Persia, was made.
